Description

Seeking a seasoned, passionate, and design-driven Director of Projects to join the studio. This pivotal role requires a dynamic leader with deep experience in high-end residential, luxury hospitality, and commercial projects; a strong creative sensibility; and the ability to guide complex design efforts from concept through completion.

The Director of Projects is responsible for overseeing multiple design projects end-to-end—ensuring creative excellence, technical rigor, and smooth execution. This leader will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and contractors, while inspiring internal design teams and contributing to a vibrant studio culture.

Responsibilities

Project Leadership

    Oversee multiple projects from design concept through installation across high-end residential, hospitality, and commercial sectors.
    Lead the development of design, drawings, documentation, and technical detailing, ensuring that all project phases are managed with attention to scope, schedule, and budget.

Team Management & Mentorship

    Serve as the primary contact for clients, contractors, and fabricators; manage day-to-day communication, coordination, and on-site implementation.

Client & Consultant Relations

    Serve as the primary contact for clients, contractors, and fabricators; manage day-to-day communication, coordination, and on-site implementation.
    Review contracts and scopes to ensure alignment with design vision and deliverables.

Design Excellence

    Originate and guide conceptual design, maintaining creative integrity throughout project execution.
    Stay attuned to industry best practices, code requirements, and permitting processes.

Studio Contribution

    Support broader studio initiatives, including internal workshops, design culture, and strategic learning programs.
    Contribute to new business development and ongoing client engagement.

Qualifications

    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or Interior Architecture.
    Minimum 12 years of experience leading design and architectural projects (residential, hospitality, commercial).
    Strong design sensibility with the ability to originate and guide creative direction.
    Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Enscape, Adobe Suite, and related design tools.
    Excellent knowledge of building codes and California construction processes, including RFI/ASI/IDSK management.
    Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
    Experience managing teams, client relationships, and consultant coordination across all phases.
    Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
